I am real...Thank you for the very informative p0st. I am really addicted to Northern Soul!

Ever since I heard the song “I can’t help myself” by the Four Tops in high school, I’ve been eagerly searching for such kind of music- upbeat, lively, soulful, vibrant, positive yet oh so emotional, deep, soulful and full of yearning… sadly, this kind of music turned out to be a Holy Grail, so I fulfilled the need by buying a lot of Motown…

It’s only when I started downloading music from the net (and got introduced to the term NORTHERN SOUL) that I really REALLY heard again this kind of music. There’s something about the feet-stompin head-noddin’ percussions that drive me nuts with joy and pleasure, the saxophone and bass that thrills my soul, and the melodious, catchy four-beat tunes that make me float in cloud 9 and wanna use my body for one of the glorious things it is designed for – which is to dance…

I love the utter unpretentiousness of these people, I imagine that all they really wanna do is play and sing their hearts out with closed eyes, and that all they’re doing and performing comes from the heart…err… I mean SOUL.

p.s my favroite soul c0mpilations are Cream of Rare Soul and Dave Godin's Soul Treasures!!!Miss Fhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07806640305749683922noreply@blogger.com
